How to solve the problem of uneven laser marking?

Solutions for Uneven Laser Marking Textures:

Imperfections in laser marking, such as bumps, burrs, and uneven depth, can be addressed by adjusting four aspects: equipment, materials, parameters, and tooling.

First, check the workpiece placement. The table must be level and stable, the material must fit snugly without any suspension or wobbling, and the clamping force should be moderate to prevent displacement during processing and subsequent texture misalignment.

Second, check the laser focus. Focus deviation is a major cause of uneven textures. Recalibrate the focus to ensure the laser beam is perpendicular to the workpiece surface. For curved workpieces, use the surface-following mode.

Then, optimize the marking parameters. Reduce the single-pass filling speed, appropriately increase the filling line density, and reduce the overlap spacing. Avoid instantaneous high power to prevent ablation of bumps. Layered, low-speed marking can improve smoothness.

Clean the lens, galvanometer, and dustproof glass. Dust and dirt can obstruct the beam, causing uneven light spots. Also, check for defects in the material itself. Uneven material hardness and surface oxidation/peeling can affect the results. Grind and clean the workpiece surface beforehand.

Finally, check the equipment galvanometer and motor operation status. If there is any jamming or shaking, repair it in time. After adjustment, test the engraving on a small sample and fine-tune the parameters until the texture is uniform and smooth.
